The Eppley Institute partners with a variety of organizations.

The National Park Service

The National Park Service (NPS) and the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands at Indiana University have had a significant and dynamic partnership since 1997. The partnership began with the development of a strategic plan to outline a process for initiating distance learning within the NPS. Today, the partnership has resulted in the development of a variety of education and training programs, e-courses development, longitudinal evaluation, and educational materials for various divisions across the National Park System.

National Center on Accessibility

A collaborative program of Indiana University and the National Park Service, the National Center on Accessibility is the nation’s premiere resource promoting access for people with disabilities in recreation. Over the last decade, NCA has played a critical role in increasing awareness of inclusion of people with disabilities in parks, recreation and tourism while advancing the spirit and intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Rehabilitation Act and other disability legislation.

Great Lakes Park Training Institute

The Institute is a professional training opportunity for recreation and park staff representing municipal, county, state, regional and national agencies. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, and exploration of current issues and techniques in the field of parks and recreation. The training is particularly applicable to park and recreation managers, horticulturists, planners, interpreters, maintenance technicians, outdoor educators, land and facility managers and leisure services providers.

Executive Development Program

For 38 years the Indiana University Executive Development Program has helped park and recreation professionals at the local, state and national level who are in front line, management, and leadership positions build and strengthen the fundamental skills needed to manage and lead in a public and non-profit setting.

Indiana University School of Education

The Eppley Institute and the Indiana University School of Education have partnered to develop a Learning Environment to deliver online training to park and public land professionals. Through this collaboration ParkTraining.org is scheduled to go live in February 2006.
